Music Mind Games

In the Suzuki method, there are many fine teachers, but one of the finest programs I have ever been introduced to was in Maryland with Michiko Yurko who developed the Music Mind Games series.  I have been employing this wonderful approach to music theory for over 28 years.  From Dynamic turtles (video shown right) to melodic bingo or rhythm towers, children enjoy learning.  I particularly enjoy the cardboard keyboard for piano key identification and some Blue Jello foam note set where piano student can assemble the different note stems, dots, flags and heads.  Today, the series does not sell the large collections of materials that I had purchased over 20 years ago, but  there are some nice smaller sets called Puppy packets that are sold online.

I love how engaging these Music Mind Games sound.
